MW General Contracting, Inc. first hung out their shingle over 30 years ago.

 

We have long standing and constructive relationships with all the local Marin Building Departments, as well as being well versed with the ins and outs of doing business in San Francisco, Napa, and Sonoma.

Our business philosophy centers around the principal that if we can not use a client or an architect as a reference we have failed in our endeavors as builders and collaborators.

We are commercial and residential builders as well as remodelers. Our resume includes local restaurants, retail stores, private clubs, new homes, large and small remodels along with seismic and foundation work.

Owner Michael White started out as a cabinetmaker in the early 70’s. Trained under the eye of an old Swedish Master Carpenter, Michael built fine oak furniture for the newly reopened Trinity Square Repertory Co. in Providence, RI.

He also became the Technical Director responsible for all stage building. It was an unusual job, one day they would build a Victorian house in full detail, next a WWII PT Boat, next a Roman style arena. This would serve him well in the future remodeling business.

After a brief stint at the Mill Valley Cabinet Shop in the mid-70’s, Michael started what would later be MWGC in 1985.

By 1998 MWGC was one of the premiere local builders in the Bay Area.
